The Bond Between Dogs and Their People Preserved in My Art

For me, the relationship I have had with dogs has enriched my life in so many ways. My dogs have been my hiking partners, studio assistants and best friends. It is for this reason that I have chosen dogs as the subject matter for several of my linoleum block prints.
These two prints are the first of my dog images. They are technically different different from my other linocuts because I did the background as a reduction print and then carved separate blocks for the man and the woman. They image is reminiscent of hikes I did with my best friends over the years. I my guess was that the woman would sell better and I was right.
Everyone Loves Golden Retrievers
Golden Retrievers are so popular and so loved that I had to make a linoleum block print in their honor. I walk my dog day and night, through all kinds of weather. A print of a man walking his Golden seemed the obvious choice. The morning dog walk is many times the best part of the day. This image celebrates this special time together for people and dogs.
In the past I have used portraits of me and my dog for my Christmas Card. In 2025, I made a block print that became my card. I will be selling these blank cards during the holiday season. I also have some linoleum block prints available.
