My new Birches print is Finished
It's taken a long time, but I printed my last color on my new 12 x 20 reduction print. When I began this print, I used this image that I printed thirty plus years ago. I still love this linocut; I have one hanging on my living room wall. I made a note card from it which you may purchase in my online store. Planning is Everything-Part 4
I have time this week to actually do printmaking! Last week I printed the second color. I spent about two hours cutting away the areas that I want to stay dark green. I cut out pine needles and grass. I always keep my original drawing nearby to guide me through the process. I just finished printing a light yellow-green on top of the dark green. Planning is Everything-Part 3
I haven't had much time to work on the print this week. I'm in a framing frenzy getting ready for two art festivals and two gallery visits that will happen between now and July 20th. That being said, I finally got some ink on the paper🎉. I've included photos of the block and the paper, so you can see what I have so far.
