My new Birches print is Finished

It's taken a long time, but I printed my last color on my new 12 x 20 reduction print. When I began this print, I used this image that I printed thirty plus years ago. I still love this linocut; I have one hanging on my living room wall. I made a note card from it which you may purchase in my online store.

The new print is a little smaller and more rectangular. 12 x 20 inches is a format I use frequently. This size gives the image a presence on the wall and gives me space in the block to carve a lot of detail in the image.

I wanted the colors to be more vibrant and have slightly more contrast in the image.

This is my planning drawing which I used throughout the process.

This is the print after four colors. The last color printed is a dark brown. One to go.

The last color is a mid tone green. I needed a color that unifies all the previous colors. It usually takes a couple tries until I get exactly what I want. A couple prints ended up in the trash; I believe the edition size will be twenty-three.

Here's the finished print.
