5 x 7 inch Birch Bark Frame

This frame is 5 x 7 inches . The molding is 2 inches wide with a 5/16" lip.

Making a Birch Bark picture frame is a labor of love. When I walk through the woods, I collect bark from felled  Birch Bark trees. I then clean the bark using a bleach solution to clean the bark and uncurl it. After the bark dries, I cut it into strips and apply it to a 2-inch wide poplar picture frame moulding that I cut to your desired size.  After the Birch Bark is applied, I decorate the corners with twigs.  My Birch bark and twigs come from upstate New York and the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. 

This 11 x 14 Birch Bark Frame comes with a mat that will accommodate an 8 x 10 photo. It is complete with glass and a backing board. I have installed eyelets so the frame may hang vertically or horizontally. I have placed turn buttons on the back of the frame, so all you need is a Phillips head screwdriver to frame your art. This Birch Bark picture frame will make a great gift and will preserve a precious memory.
