About the event
This is a four hour hands-on workshop in reduction method linoleum block printing. Students will create a three-color linoleum block print from one piece of linoleum.
I will demonstrate each step of the process, then facilitate your work. By the end of the workshop you will have a working knowledge of proper cutting and inking techniques, including rainbow roll printing, color registration, and color mixing.
I will provide everything you need to complete the project, including drawing materials, the linoleum, paper, ink and printmaking tools. You may choose among several landscape images, including moonlight scenes, White Birches, and Lakes that I will provide. You will have the opportunity to modify these basic sketches to create unique works of art, or you may bring your own sketch. The sketch should have no more than three colors plus white.
